Job Overview

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and timely quotations are provided to various departments and stakeholders, supporting our commitment to excellence in customer service and internal operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating lead time delivery based on input from the Planning and Procurement Areas.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a should-cost analysis to estimate the fair cost of material s, components, and manufacturing processes, including detailed routings for machining.

• Support source negotiations by conducting deep dives on the costs and providing data-driven recommendations.

• Analyze production data and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and identify solutions to ensure efficient production.

• Develop and implement best practices in advanced manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing, automation, and digital technologies.

• Assist in developing and maintaining a standardized internal quotation process to ensure efficiency and consistency, including creating and maintaining product cost models that accurately reflect data.

• Collaborate with department heads and team leads to gather necessary information and pricing data for quotations.

• Assist in analyzing product/service costs, market conditions, and competitive factors to determine pricing strategies.

• Prepare the final costed BOM, with detailed costing, including comparing different suppliers, new processes when applicable, and strategy.

• When necessary, request quotes from suppliers to obtain equipment prices, setting the best MOQ/ACQ and costs.

• Maintain a well-organized database of internal quotations, pricing models, and historical data.

• Ensure all quotations are accurately documented and archived for reference and audit purposes.

• Collaborate with production teams, engineering, internal and external suppliers, to optimize manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

• Work closely with various departments, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product Development, to provide timely and accurate quotations that align with business objectives.

• Act as a liaison between departments to address any discrepancies or special requests related to quotations.

• Hand over the quotation to MFG, explaining the pricing, strategy, and supplier selection.

• Do a systematic review of the quotes before submitting them to avoid errors.

• Perform handover to manufacturing to explain assumptions and criteria used on the quote to minimize variance.

• Leverage historical quotation data and pricing trends to support forecasting and demand planning efforts.

• Collaborate with the demand planning team to provide insights that contribute to accurate inventory management and production planning.

• Provide training and guidance to new team members involved in the quotation process to ensure adherence to best practices and standard procedures.

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

• Ability to think strategically and provide insight on pricing strategies.

• Knowledge of budgeting and cost control methods

• Knowledge of cost estimating techniques

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Knowledge of procurement and supply chain techniques

• Preferably with proficiency with JDE, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or other ERP/CRM software systems.

• Solid understanding of the manufacturing process, materials, and technology

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in cost estimation

• 5+ years of experience in machining or MFG routing creation

• Preferably someone with bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or related field with strong relevant work experience
