Job Description

AECOM's Building Engineering practice is currently seeking an Associate - Electrical Engineer, to be based in our UAE design studio. The Associate Electrical Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various projects within the Building Engineering practice. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles,, and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. The Associate Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management and architecture to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions that meet client and company needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and circuit design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Perform detailed electrical engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to optimize system performance.

  • Select and specify electrical components, ensuring they meet project requirements and are cost-effective.

  • Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to minimize hazards associated with electrical systems.

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers, guiding them in design, analysis, and problem-solving.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineering / architectural disciplines to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal role.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; other relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
