Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. Environmental Project Manager in Abingdon, Maryland
Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is currently seeking an Environmental Project Scientist / Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience for our Abingdon, Maryland office. This is an excellent growth opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to join our expanding environmental presence in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. GTA's Environmental Department serves a diverse client base, providing due diligence, regulatory consulting, site remediation, and similar services.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience performing and managing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, significant experience with State Voluntary Cleanup and Brownfields projects, strong business development skills, leadership and management abilities, and a B.S. in an environmentally-related field.
Environmental Project Manager - Responsibilities:
Manage and perform standard environmental services, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, remedial design, remedial implementation, regulatory closure, and other environmental services (e.g., Asbestos/Lead-Based Paint Surveys, and NEPA/SHPO evaluations, and similar work)
Supervise Field- and Staff-level personnel on all appropriate aspects of projects
Prepare accurate project documentation
Manage and write reports and other deliverables (including appropriate figures, analysis summary tables, and exploration logs)
Perform quality review of project deliverables, providing constructive feedback to lower-level staff
Train, manage, and mentor lower-level staff in all aspects of project execution
Responsible for scheduling and completing the project, monitoring the budget, and updating supervisors and the client, with limited supervision from higher-level personnel
Prepare competent and complete proposals and budgets
Handle administrative office tasks and demonstrate efficient project management skills
Review and accurately bill assigned projects, and assist with collections
Assist in developing in-house practices and professional development presentations to staff
Coordinate and communicate with other GTA disciplines
Effective in generating repeat business and some new business
Initiate new client outreach and be alert to new marketing and business opportunities
Successful candidates MUST have:
BS Degree in environmental science/geology/engineering or related field. Master's Degree preferred
5-10 years' experience in Phase I and Phase II ESAs
Significant experience with Brownfields, regulatory interaction, and related work
Experience in Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), asbestos surveys, and lead-based paint surveys is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage, supervise, and mentor junior level personnel
Client interaction experience
Ability to manage budgets
Strong ability to market and build client list is preferred

Annual Salary: $70,00 - $90,000
