VICTIM ADVOCATE /HOUSING SPECIALIST

General Description: Under the supervision of the Advocacy Director, the Victim Advocate will work directly with women, children and men victims of dating violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault. This position will be responsible for supporting residents and non-residents seeking services through Noah Project. On-call and holiday rotation.

Essential Job Functions for SAPCS Grant (25%):

  • Receive crisis calls and provide immediate crisis intervention for all victims of sexual assault.
  • Determine eligibility of services for victims of sexual assault and/or give referral sources.
  • Complete intakes for victims of sexual assault who are residents and non-residents, as well as perform resident exit interviews as required.
  • Conduct consistent advocacy and regularly scheduled client casework sessions for Noah Project clients who are victims of sexual assault.
  • Document casework activities on a timely basis including maintaining files and entering data and statistics.
  • Attend scheduled trainings for advocacy regarding working with victims of sexual assault.
  • Be familiar with legal services, resources, and procedures available to victims of sexual assault and identify legal rights and options as part of individual service plans.
  • Assist each victim of sexual assault in safety planning and re-evaluation of the safety plan as part of an individual service plan.
  • Assist eligible clients with Crime Victim Compensation, Protective Orders and VINE services.
  • Provide services specific to the needs of a victim sexual assault

Essential Job Functions (75%):

Receive crisis calls and provide immediate crisis intervention for all victims of domestic violence and dating violence.

Perform Lethality Assessment Protocols in coordination with law enforcement for safety planning.

Determine eligibility of services and/or give referral sources.

Complete intake and exit interviews and complete all required documentation on residents and non-residents clients.

Conduct consistent advocacy and regularly scheduled client casework sessions for Noah Project clients.

Conduct regularly scheduled in-house life skills meetings and DV 101 classes for residents and non-residents.
