LIFETIME INDEPENDENCE FOR Personal Care Attendant - Taylor County in Abilene, Texas

Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) to join our team. If you are an existing PCA, someone looking for a new career, or a full-time or part-time student looking for work to accommodate your class schedule, LIFEs newly launched Emergency Providers for In-Home Care Services Program may be ideal for you. LIFEs PCAs will be responsible for providing prompt, high-quality personal care services to individuals with disabilities and older adults needing immediate assistance with critical activities of daily living. Starting wage is $20 an hour, depending on experience.

Essential Tasks:

  • Provide prompt, high-quality services to Consumers needing assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, clothing, toileting, grooming, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Consumer interactions and observations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and adherence to program policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and maintain any necessary certifications.
  • Communicate effectively with Consumers, families, and team members, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Program by providing feedback, suggestions, and participating in program evaluations.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Ability to communicate verbally to convey information to Consumers effectively
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Demonstrated commitment to Consumer-Directed care, teamwork, and continuous learning
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Reliable transportation

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent,
  • One years experience in providing personal assistance services to individuals with disabilities and older adults; or any combination of education and experience that may qualify the individual for the position.
