Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan. This position normally works 300am-1130am (MTW), 3am-130pm (Th) and 3am-9am (F) . Occasional work on weekends, holidays, and hours other than those regularly scheduled may be required. This job requires heavy physical labor during the course of each day. Laundry Worker II position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial laundry equipment and performing complex laundry work in a commercial laundry. Laundry Worker II assists with overseeing the laundry process in the soil sort and dryer areas. Will promote team work while preforming all assigned tasks. Activities include sorting, classifying, weighing and recording of weights, loading/unloading of Continuous Batch Washer (CBW), press, shuttle, and large 300# dryers, small commercial washer/extractors and dryers, flatwork ironing, unloading conveyor, folding, preparing clothes and linens for delivery, delivery, and routine cleaning of work area / areas. Work involves both light and heavy physical labor. Employee will follow all HHSC, Facility, and Regional Laundry procedures for reporting time and attend work on a regular and predictable schedule performing all tasks as assigned. All tasks will be performed within the established time frames. Laundry Worker II works under the close supervision from the Laundry Worker III, Laundry Manager and Regional Laundry Director with minimum latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. This position will occasionally work under close supervision of the Laundry Maintenance assisting with daily laundry preventative maintenance. Completion of work requires use of established methods and/or techniques. Decisions are simple and based on well-defined guidelines. The Laundry Worker II has no financial responsibility but is accountable for assigned property. Essential Job Functions1.Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. 2. Assist in overseeing the laundry process in the soil sort and clean processing areas. 3. Operation of the Continuous Batch Washer (CBW), Press, Shuttle, 4 300# Dryers 4. Operation of the CBW, Press, shuttle, 4 dryers, and un-loader belt, and 300# Lint Collector. 5. Operation of the 300# dryer unload conveyor. 6. Operation of commercial washer/extractors and dryers. 7. Operation of the Feeder, Ironer, Folder, and Stacker. 8. Operation of small piece folders. 9. Folding linens by hand. 10. Maintains a clean and safe environment to meet infection control and safety standards. 11.
