Overview

Video Telecommunications (VTC) Specialist

Bowhead seeks a Video Telecommunications (VTC) Specialist in Aberdeen, MD. The VTC Specialist will service and support conference room system maintenance covering over 10+ conference rooms. The VTC Specialist will ensure the collaboration technology in the conference rooms is ready and operational, to include connecting calls, being available for troubleshooting during calls, and assisting with content as requested. This requires support of upgrades, engineering support, design as well as troubleshooting of highly technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Engineering services, to include:

  • Developing written procedures; checklists and instructions for technology use.

  • Defines system solutions based on user/client needs, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.

  • Researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery.

  • Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies.

  • Work on advanced, complex technical projects requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.

  • Provide off-site support when required; i.e. conferences; meetings; or any alternate sites where C4IM support is needed.

  • Provide single user training while troubleshooting an end user problem.

  • Monitor network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

  • Perform system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.

  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of these systems, including their repair and testing.

  • Provide support to virtual meetings such as Teams meetings, Live Events, Zoom, or other application based virtual meeting environments.

  • Collaborate with the NEC and IMOs for troubleshooting of any IT associated with meeting/collaboration support.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related scientific or technical discipline.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively more complex experience in network design, development, and documentation. Four (4) additional years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must hold an active security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
