This role ensures D&T makes a strategic impact on the Diageo business, working with business sponsors, the regional D&T team and Global teams e.g Value Streams to maximize D&T value in market.

Purpose of Role:

As a Data, Analytics & Insights Business Analyst at Diageo, your role is integral to the organization's pursuit of excellence in data-driven decision-making, process efficiency, and strategic alignment. You serve as the linchpin connecting Data and Technology (D&T) capabilities with the specific needs and aspirations of your designated market(s), contributing significantly to Diageo's overall success.

The role of Data, Analytics & Insights Business Analyst at Diageo is pivotal in steering the organization toward data-driven excellence, process efficiency, and strategic success. By forging strong relationships, embracing adaptability, and staying attuned to the evolving needs of your market(s), you play a central role in shaping Diageo's future and improving its value.

Market Complexity:

D&T delivers products to all Diageo markets and functions. This role where appropriate will be part of multiple market and global working groups working in conjunction with the D&T market lead to ensure D&T delivers end to end across the spectrum of capabilities. This often includes a portfolio of sophisticated geographic/ functional/ process/ system footprint.

Leadership Responsibilities & Capabilities:

Working closely with the wider D&T team to ensure optimal executional delivery of D&T into their market. The role requires a breadth of expertise both in analysis and partnering to ensure proficient accountability and ensure high quality deliver of D&T for the market.

Financial Complexity:

The market business analyst will, depending on the market scale typically have involvement in projects and regional capability analysis on systems and resources investment in multiple millions.

Top Accountabilities:

Market Maturity Assessment:

  • Lead efforts to assess the current maturity of the market's data and analytics capabilities by defining the "As Is" state.

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing processes, data systems, and technologies to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Customer Management:

  • Handle and cultivate relationships with key collaborators within the market.

  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their needs, expectations, and feedback, ensuring alignment between data and analytics initiatives and market priorities.

Innovation Projects:

  • Drive innovation within the market by identifying and championing data-driven innovation projects.

  • Work on the conceptualization, planning, and execution of innovative analytics initiatives that have the potential to deliver significant business value.

Data Culture Promotion:

  • Act as a catalyst for building a data-centric culture within the market.

  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making and empower market teams to leverage data and analytics effectively through training, communication, and standard process sharing.

Requirements Management:

  • C ollaborate with customers to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for data and analytics projects.

  • Ensure that requirements are clear, well-documented, and effectively communicated to support the successful development and implementation of analytics solutions.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Here are up to 5 qualifications and experiences typically required for a Data & Analytics Business Analyst role:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a Relevant Field: in fields such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related subject area is typically required. A master's degree or equivalent experience can be advantageous for more advanced positions.

  • Strong Data Analysis Skills: Demonstrated experience in data analysis, including data modeling, data visualization, statistical analysis, and proficiency with relevant analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python, R).

  • Customer Management: Validated ability to handle relationships with partners, capture and document requirements, and optimally communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Data Governance and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with data governance principles and regulatory compliance, especially if handling sensitive or regulated data.

  • Innovation and Problem-Solving: Experience in driving innovation through analytics projects, solving complex business problems with data-driven approaches, and finding opportunities for process improvement.

These qualifications and experiences collectively enable a Data & Analytics Business Analyst to effectively bridge the gap between data technology and business needs, drive informed decision-making, and contribute to the success of data and analytics initiatives within an organization.
