Railcar Trailer Assembly/ Groundsman
Starting pay: $18.97
Location: Melvindale, MI
Schedule: All shifts
Position Summary:
You will perform the functions required in assembling, disassembling and inspecting Road Railer Trains.
This is outside work in all types of weather conditions
Areas of Responsibility:
Perform assembly or disassembly activities
Only working on tracks with blue signal in place
Ability to safely operate a "spotter" truck in both assembly and disassembly operations
Ability to safely operate a forklift involved in both assembly and disassembly operations
Ensuring trailers are properly secured to the "bogie"
Ensuring trailers are properly coupled
Ensuring "bogies" are properly positioned on the track
Checking for trailer damage and notifying the supervisor if damage is noticed
Assist other Assemblers making repairs that require two man lift
Comply with all industry, customer and company safety regulations and operating procedures
What's Required:
High School Diploma/GED or Ability
Valid State Driver's License
Safety first mentality
Must possess and demonstrate appropriate mechanical aptitude
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Able to meet attendance requirements
A team work, can do attitude and willing to learn
